Keep The Dream Alive, 2006

Running time: 2 min

The point of departure for this video based work were questions related to rethorics, communication and power strategies in politics.
The hands of the former Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson was filmed during several of his speech sessions at the Parliament of Sweden. The audio were made as a 'music composition' of speech samples from Lance Armstrong, Bono, Jimmy Carter, Dwight Eisenhower, Mary Fisher, Martin Luther King, John F Kennedy, Olof Palme, Eleanor Roosvelt, Harry Truman, Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey - to which the hands of the former Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson are edited to dance along with.

The video were sent to the Prime Minister with a question if he would agree on an interview and talk about each of his hand gestures represented in the work and what they represent or communicate for him. His press contact responded positively, and the question remains open.

Keep The Dream Alive were on display in a solo show at Overgaden – Institut for Samtidskunst, Copenhagen, Denmark 2006.
