Twilight, Broken Loop is a continuous video loop where one megalopolis filmed in daytime fades in and out of another megalopolis filmed upside down at night. The work is derived from Aglert’s artistic investigation on light pollution and reflects the fact that artificial lights continue to grow and ’spread as cancer over the globe’, as stated by a light designer in an interview conducted by Aglert. Obliterating night sky phenomena like the Milky Way, light pollution also results in a silent catastrophe for animal life and creates a 24/7 scenario where the darkness never takes place.
